The professionals who are actively involved in the sports medicine field ranges from standard doctors, physical therapists, surgeons, and even athletic trainers and other similar careers.  Sports tend to be a highly competitive field, and as such most emphasis is placed upon speedy as well as complete recoveries from any injuries.  This could mean that an injury that would take normally 3 months to heal can be reduced to only 2 months using the appropriate sports medicine techniques under a qualified doctor’s care.</p>
<p>Most doctors who practice sports medicine treat athletes both professional, amateur and often children for the various injuries that occur while playing any sport imaginable.  The human body is designed to quickly heal following most injuries if an appropriate treatment is followed, and sports medicine is intended to speed the recovery process as much as possible.  Many sports medicine doctors are also actively involved in giving athletes preventive care as well which is designed to reduce the occurrence of many common injuries.<span id="more-480"></span></p>

<p>Courses to learn new sports recreation skills can be found online and in larger cities.  You can learn and participate in team sports through the local Y and other organizations.  Team sports recreation activities you might like to participate in include softball, baseball, basketball, and sometimes soccer for younger people.  Another team sport you might enjoy is bowling.  Regardless of your skill level you can find a bowling team to have fun with.</p>
<p>Individual sports recreation activities you can learn and participate in include golf, tennis, running, aerobic dance, gymnastics, and horseback riding.  Don&#8217;t overlook bicycling and weight training too.  Many of these sports can be learned at the local Y as well.  For some of these, you&#8217;ll want to have a friend to play against or share the exerience with.  Many runners, for instance, like to run with a friend.  And games like tennis and handball really need cooperation for best results.<span id="more-465"></span></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Swimming is as old as the Stone Age. Writing references can be dated back to 2000 BC and drawings were found in the cave of swimmers near Sura, Egypt. Competitions in swimming started somewhere around 1800, in Europe. Until then the breaststroke was very famous and John Arthur Trudgen started the front crawl or the trudgen in 1873. It was added as a sport in the 1896 Athens Summer Olympics, which were the first modern Olympics. Butterfly stroke was recognized in 1952, before which it was known as a variation of breaststroke.<br />
The water within the human body has a little less density compared to that of the water outside, which forces the body to the surface. To move forward, the water around should be pushed backward and to float, the water should be pushed downward. The pushing is done by using hands as paddles and kicking with the legs. It takes less effort to swim and float in the ocean than in a swimming pool because salty water has more density than fresh water because of the salts.<br />
The basic principle involved in all swimming styles is that the body should be kept parallel to the surface of the water and the hands should be positioned in outward direction, inline with the head, so as to cut though the water and reduce the friction. The more the body is slanted, the more the drag. Also, by extending the hands, the average length at the water line is increased which is directly proportional to the increase in the speed.  <span id="more-448"></span><br />
Swimmers who have a good acceleration of hips have a good hand force. The force of the hand is related to the rotation of the hips and not the muscles in the arms. The stronger the hip muscles, the more the torque generated. The body should be in an incline position so as to reduce the frontal cross-section and drag. By doing so the shoulders do not generate bow waves and the water line is not broken.<br />
According to hydrodynamics, the movement of the hands and legs, from back to front, should be as much in air as in water, during the recovery stroke. The shoulder rotation is necessary for the forward motion and it requires strong abdominal muscles. Some of the swimmers flatten their palms to move the water backward and some spread their fingers slightly. Breathing is another important factor to be worked on while swimming. Correct way of breathing can increase performance and decrease fatigue. The body should be trained to work on less amount of oxygen because professional swimmers take breath in one stroke and let it out slowly till the fourth stroke. Taking a deep breath and submerging in the water, while kicking in the water, can control breath.<br />
Children can be made to join summer camps that give swimming lessons. Swimmers need to wear body skin kind of swimsuits so as to reduce the drag and beginners can use aids such as Styrofoam Board until they learn swimming properly. Beginners should concentrated on increasing the strength along with the other techniques.</p>
<p>Swimming is a great exercise as there is less impact on the joints and bones because the density of water is similar to the density of the human body and the water supports the body. It is usually used to treat people with certain disabilities and injuries. Swimming is an aerobic exercise and is a good way to beat stress.<br />
The problems and hazards related to swimming are drowning and water inhalation in a contaminated environment. Extreme exhaustion can lead to unconsciousness. Weaker people should avoid it because it can be a cause to heart attacks, stroke, shallow water blackout and carotid sinus syncope. Excess water intake in salty water can form foam in the lungs, which effects breathing badly. Regular swimmers get exostosis or swimmers&#8217; ear, which is abnormal growth in the ear canal and athlete&#8217;s foot, which is bacterial infection in between the toes. Chemicals in the swimming pools can cause skin and eye irritation and can even discolor the hair. Asthmatics should avoid excess swimming in swimming pool, as the chlorine inhalation will affect their lungs badly.  While swimming in ocean, precautions should be taken, as there is an increased risk of getting jellyfish sting or harm from any other aquatic animal.</p>

<p>One of the biggest problems that beginners have when learning golf is they tend to look up when they actually go to strike the ball.  This is a problem because it can result in a stroke being counted even if you did not hit the ball.  You can just imagine how this can quickly add up to a horrible golf score.  It is important to always look down until after you have hit the ball.  To ensure that you do stay down until after the hit ensure that you keep your hips properly rotated.  If you have trouble with this concept talk to your instructor for some specific tips to help you.  Additionally, ensuring that you keep your arms extended fully while you are swinging has been known to help many beginning golfers.  Your last step should be counting to five after you strike the ball before you look up.  This will help you pace yourself and help you avoid looking up too quickly.<span id="more-414"></span></p>
<p>Another common problem for beginning golfers is that many putts on the green are continuously missed.  To help overcome this problem you should ensure that you are standing in the putting stance and looking straight down at the top of your ball.  If you are not looking directly down, you are likely to miss the appropriate hit and your ball will veer off in an undesirable direction.  Only look straight down at the ball when you actually putt and you will be looking at a much greater chance of actually hitting the ball into the hole without having to continuously putt and putt again.</p>
<p>Many new golfers also tend to have a problem with the ball going into the sides of the green, rather than straight ahead.  While this may seem like a very complicated problem to correct, it is actually quite simple with a bit of patience.  The first thing you always need to keep in mind is your stance.  If you are not standing appropriately before you even swing the club, you are not going to have a successful stroke.  You need to ensure that you are taking the time to carefully analyze your stance before you ever swing, if you notice that your club is not squarely touching the ball then you may need to back up a bit to ensure that you are not hitting the ball from the side of the club.  This is one of the biggest things that will throw a ball to one side of the green or another.  Ensuring a solid, square swing will help your ball go to the desired location with a bit of practice.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It is not uncommon for a yacht trip to be exciting.  To take a cruise around the Mediterranean or the Caribbean and enjoy exotic cities, cuisine such as you never have known before and a nightlife that never ends may be the ultimate of luxury and pleasure for many yachters.  But there is a breed of yachting enthusiast who like the crew who must climb tall mountains that are as dangerous as they are beautiful, they must use their yachts to find high adventure.</p>
<p>There is no question that a well made yacht is the perfect way to approach finding an adventure of a lifetime.  By definition, adventure is going out there &#8220;without a rope&#8221; and finding excitement where it can be found.  That means that unlike those who stay in charter waters, you will use your yachting adventure to seek new places to explore, to find danger where it does not want to be found and to have excitement that only life threatening adventures can give.</p>
<p>A typical high adventure yacht outing would be to sail around the outback of Australia where the untamed lands and peoples are not used to seeing such a vessel and may not be friendly to your arrival.  Because you do have the relative safety of the yacht, you can pick and choose when to go ashore for some hunting or exploring.  Your objective is twofold which is to get around the entire continent and to stop and explore every day.  To make the journey even more exciting, only take provisions for a few days of a journey that will take weeks.  That means you must find food on shore in hostile environs which pits you against nature for survival. <p>Similarly diving in unexplored waters can be thrilling and risky all at once.  With your trusty crew above, perhaps you might go treasure hunting to find lost booty in sunken pirate ships off the coast of Africa.  Lowering yourself to these depths means you are in places where anything can happen to you.  You don’t know what kind of beasts might lurch out from those dark places in that sunken ship or what other dangers might trap you beneath the waters.  But your spirit of adventure means you will face those dangers if nothing more than the sheer sport of it.</p>
<p>Another kind of adventure seeker may use their yacht to maneuver them as close to an untamed forest, mountain range or beach to venture out to camp and explore.  The very act of mapping and finding your way in a dense setting like this adds risk because if you get lost, there are no cell phone towers to help you find your way out.  Knowing that is the level of danger you are in is just the adrenaline rush high adventure seekers love.</p>

Each frame, a player has two opportunities to knock down ten pins. A game consists of ten frames, and the player with the highest score at the end of the tenth frame, wins.</p>
<p>If you are bowling at an alley without a scoring computer, you&#8217;ll probably be given a paper scoresheet. Before you start playing, record each players name in the appropriate area of the scoresheet. The pins that are knocked down on a player&#8217;s first attempt are counted and recorded. The mechanical pin setter then removes the standing pins, clears the knocked-down pins, and then returns the remaining pins.<span id="more-314"></span></p>
<p>The player then takes their second attempt, and any additional pins that are knocked down are counted and added to the first. The score from both attempts is first added together, and then to any previous scores, to calculate the running score for the frame. Most scoresheets have a small area in each frame to record the number of pins knocked down in each of the first and second attempts. The running total is then written in the larger area of the scoresheet.</p>
<p>For example:</p>
<p>If a player knocks down six pins on their first attempt, and then two pins on their second attempt, then they&#8217;ve scored an 8 on the first frame. In the second frame, if that player knocks down seven pins on their first attempt, and one pin on their second attempt, then their total score is now 16.</p>
<p>Players score bonus points when they knock down all ten pins in a frame, by either bowling a strike or a spare. The number of bonus points depends not only on whether a strike or spare was bowled, but also on the player&#8217;s performance with the next 1 or 2 balls.</p>
<p>You score a strike when you knock down all ten pins on the first ball of the frame. To record a strike, mark an X for that frame; their score will be the ten pins of the strike plus any pins knocked down on two balls of the next frame. (You delay recording the score for that frame until the next one is completed).</p>
<p>After a strike, the next frame should be scored as usual. If the player bowls a second strike, scoring will need to be delayed until the next frame. The pins knocked down with that ball are added to the 10 from each strike.</p>
<p>A player that knocks down all 10 pins with their second ball is scored as rolling a spare.</p>
<p>To record a spare, mark a/ in that frame. The score for the frame is the 10 pins knocked down plus the number of pins knocked down on the first ball of the following frame. Bowling scores accumulate each frame until 10 frames are completed. If, in the tenth frame, a bowler rolls a strike or a spare, they are allowed bonus balls to determine their score.</p>
